THE CULT Bassist Shoots Down Reports Of Collaboration With Ex-TAKE THAT Singer

THE CULT touring bassist Billy Morrison has shot down the rumors of a collaboration between him, THE CULT guitarist Billy Duffy and ex-TAKE THAT frontman Robbie Williams (who's got a hugely successful solo career in Europe) on a rock project. "Never believe what the papers say," Morrison stated. "My friendship with Rob is no secret — he is a great friend to me and I've known him for a little while now. And obviously, LA is a very small place, and rumors start from the most innocuous conversations. But whatever started it all, I'm here to say that it is not true. So all you purist CULT fans who seemed so horribly upset that Billy would sully his rocking credentials by working with Rob can rest easy. I do think that it's a great shame that people in this day and age can still be so single-minded and closed to such possibilities, though. Whilst it was most definitely just a rumor, I did smile at the outcry it provoked, and wondered just how much these people got out. Friday nights in the local bar must get boring, surely?! Punk rock came along twenty-five years ago to shake up the apathy and boredom of a very stale music business. I sincerely hope that there aren't too many people out there suffering a similar kind of myopia these days. I continue to listen to, write and play loud guitar heavy rock and roll. I just choose to believe that it can come in many different forms. We shall see…"
